Zenith Energy buys 10 MWp solar site in Lombardy and updates Italian output

Zenith Energy has announced the purchase of a ground-mounted solar development project with an indicative capacity of about 10 MWp in the Province of Pavia, Lombardy. Reuters reported the news based on the company's press release. The project becomes the fourth in the company's cluster in the area, and its total solar pipeline rises to about 233 MWp against a target of 240 MWp by the end of 2026.

The site covers about 11 hectares for a total consideration of roughly 1.08 million euros. Payment falls due only once the project reaches ready-to-build status, which the company expects within 10 to 12 months. Zenith also said its 7 MWp portfolio in Puglia is under construction, with commissioning targeted before the end of 2026. According to the company, the Torrente Cigno concession produces about 1,000 MWh per month, and the Italian PUN index rose from 180 euros per MWh in August to 208 in September and is tracking near 212 for October.

why it matters

For markets this is a small, local deal, and its financial effect on Zenith is limited for now. Higher Italian power prices support the earnings of the company's existing output, while deferred land payments reduce its exposure during the development stage.
