Vista Equity Partners to acquire HID's PKI unit from ASSA ABLOY

Swedish access-control group ASSA ABLOY announced a deal under which Vista Equity Partners (Vista) would take over the public key infrastructure operation inside its HID division. According to the press release carried by TradingView and originally distributed via PR Newswire, the unit supplies digital trust, identity verification, authentication, encryption and certificate management tools.

The package covers the PKI SaaS offerings IdenTrust and HydrantID, which handle credential management, as well as ZeroSSL. The business generated 2025 sales of $58 million (about SEK 570 million) and carries a strong operating margin. The announcement did not disclose deal terms.

Completion is subject to standard closing conditions and is expected in the fourth quarter of 2026. CEO Nico Delvaux said the arrangement gives the unit a committed long-term investor, while HID head Björn Lidefelt praised Vista's expertise as the market evolves.
