Unilever Raises Full-Year Volume Outlook on Emerging Market Strength

Turnover reached 13.3 billion euros, or $14.80 billion. Underlying sales grew 5.2% in the third quarter, while volumes rose 2.9%. For the second half, the company expects underlying sales growth of around 5%, up from its previous range of 4% to 5%. The home care unit, which includes Cif, posted underlying sales growth of 9.1%.

Emerging markets delivered underlying sales growth of 9.5%, with double-digit volume gains in India, Turkey, Vietnam and Pakistan. In North America, gains in personal care and beauty were offset by declines in wellbeing and foods. Developed markets showed weaker sales and volumes.
