Schroders and Equiniti disclose easyJet stakes and small share sales

Schroders Limited disclosed its position in easyJet plc as of 22 October 2026, according to a filing published by EasyJet Plc. The firm holds or controls 12,676,876 shares, equal to 1.672% of the company's capital. The notice also says Schroders has no voting discretion over 3,577,307 of those shares. Dealings on 22 October included the sale of 1,000,000 shares at 6.802 pounds and 3,941 shares at 6.794 pounds.

A separate notice from Equiniti Share Plan Trustees Limited, reported by Reuters, covers 10,474,092 easyJet shares, or 1.38%, as of the same date. The trustee acts for easyJet employees in a share incentive plan, with easyJet plc as settlor. On that day the trustee sold 103 shares at 6.7933 pounds and 123 shares at 6.7993 pounds.

why it matters

These disclosures are required under Rule 8.3 of the UK Takeover Code for holders of 1% or more of a company involved in a takeover process. The sales are small relative to easyJet's share count and are unlikely to move the stock alone, but they show large holders actively trading the shares while investors track the situation.
