According to Reuters, Indian liquor producer Radico Khaitan posted a 66% jump in quarterly net profit. The company credits stronger appetite for high-end drinks, as it shifts sales from mass-market brands toward premium lines that typically earn fatter margins and hold up better when prices rise.

Net profit for the three months to September 30 reached 2.32 billion rupees, or $24.39 million, versus 1.4 billion rupees a year earlier. Core margin widened by 462 basis points to 20.4%, while revenue grew 10.4% to 55.8 billion rupees. Volume in its top-tier 'prestige and above' category climbed 36%, helped by vodka sales.

The company also said a revised duty structure in Karnataka is already tilting demand toward pricier products, with encouraging signals in Tamil Nadu. Separately, finance chief Dilip Banthiya will join the board as an executive director while keeping his CFO role from October 28, and Saket Somani becomes deputy chief financial officer on the same date. Shares rose roughly 2% to 4,285 rupees in afternoon trading.
