Daniel Newman of The Futurum Group said the merger has been close to inevitable since the SpaceX IPO and would bring together space, AI, autonomy and robotics. Brian Mulberry of Zacks Investment Management said each company is building the case on existing synergies that could bring greater efficiencies. Yuri Khodjamirian of Tema ETFs said the combination makes sense and that the companies already work on joint projects such as Terrafab.

Any deal would still require votes from the shareholders of each company.
