Indian bank Q2 results: who led on profit and net interest income

According to TradingView, citing Mint, several major Indian banks published results for the July-September quarter of financial year 2026-27 on Saturday, October 17. ICICI Bank's standalone net profit rose 20.1% to Rs 14,843 crore, while its net interest income climbed 17.7% to Rs 25,339 crore. Axis Bank lifted profit 38% to Rs 7,003 crore, helped mainly by lower provisions for bad loans.

HDFC Bank's standalone profit grew 4.7% to Rs 19,510 crore, but its treasury trading gains dropped 67% to Rs 780 crore. Yes Bank's consolidated profit increased 65% to Rs 1,080 crore, its net interest income rose 22.7%, and it reported the lowest net NPA ratio among the group. IDBI Bank's profit fell 39% to Rs 2,205 crore because of a one-time gain booked a year earlier from the sale of its stake in NSDL, though its underlying profit rose 14%.

The sector picture is mixed: most of the profit growth rests on lending and smaller loan-loss provisions rather than trading income, which slumped at HDFC Bank.
