Harmony Biosciences to change CEO on January 1, 2027

According to GlobeNewswire, Harmony Biosciences’ Board of Directors has appointed Peter Anastasiou as president, chief executive officer and a board member, effective January 1, 2027. Anastasiou previously served on Harmony’s board and is currently the company’s senior executive vice president and chief operating officer. He will succeed Jeffrey M. Dayno, M.D., who will leave the CEO role and the board on December 31, 2026, after nine years with the company.

Dayno will remain available as a non-executive advisor throughout 2027 to help support the transition. Harmony said it will continue pursuing its existing priorities, including expanding the pitolisant franchise, advancing its central nervous system pipeline led by BP-205, deploying capital in value-creating transactions and protecting WAKIX exclusivity.

The company reaffirmed its full-year 2026 net revenue guidance for WAKIX at $1.0 billion to $1.04 billion. Harmony also said it remains on track to report multiple ascending dose study data for BP-205 in Q4 2026 and does not currently expect changes to the timing of key commercial or pipeline milestones.
