GE Vernova to acquire Trench Group for $9 billion and lifts revenue outlook again

GE Vernova said on Wednesday that it will acquire high-voltage grid equipment producer Trench Group from Triton Partners. The price is $9 billion. The power equipment maker wants to widen its electrification operations as utilities around the world spend more on transmission networks to serve demand from data centers and factories.

The purchase would add production capacity and extend GE Vernova's presence in North America, Europe and Asia. It also gives the company access to Trench's order book and framework agreements, valued at about $5 billion. Half of the price will be paid in cash and half with debt, and closing is expected in late 2027.

Separately, according to Reuters, the company has now raised its full-year revenue guidance for the third time in a row, to between $46.5 billion and $47.5 billion from the previous $45.5 billion to $46.5 billion.
