what happened
Copper One Resources has completed drill hole MHB-39, the first hole in the Phase 2 program at its flagship copper-silver-gold project Majuba Hill in Pershing County, Nevada, according to Reuters. The hole reached 1,460 feet (about 445 metres), roughly 210 feet beyond the upper end of its original planned depth range.
The team extended the hole because persistent silicification warranted further study at depth. Native copper was visually identified at 1,090 feet, and copper oxides at 820 feet. The company stresses these observations are preliminary and need laboratory confirmation. Assay results from the 2026 Phase 1 drill program have not yet been published.
Phase 2 covers up to 10,000 feet of diamond core drilling. The initial roughly 5,000 feet has been contracted to Evolve Exploration Nevada.
why it matters
For the market this is a small story: metal concentrations have not been measured, so the economic potential of the site cannot yet be judged. Interest in copper remains strong on demand from electrification, AI infrastructure and power systems, but the real significance of this update will depend on laboratory results.
