Choice Hotels, Ibotta and Commercial Vehicle Group: what to expect from earnings

Choice Hotels, a hotel franchisor, will report results this Monday before the market opens. Last quarter the company posted revenue of $440.8 million, up 3.4% year on year, beating analyst forecasts. For the current quarter, however, the market expects revenue to be flat compared with a year earlier.

Ibotta, a cash-back rewards platform, will publish its results this Monday after the close. Revenue last quarter rose 3.3% to $88.91 million, and total redemptions reached 74.36 million, up 26.9%. Analysts expect revenue to grow 6.6% this quarter, after a 15.6% decline a year earlier.

Commercial Vehicle Group, a maker of vehicle systems, also reports this Monday after the bell. Its revenue last quarter came to $195.2 million, up 13.5% year on year. Analysts forecast revenue growth of 25.2% for the coming period, according to Stockstory.

why it matters

For investors, the key question is not the forecasts themselves but whether actual figures come in above or below them. Over the past 30 days analysts have largely kept their estimates unchanged, and all three companies have missed revenue consensus several times in the last two years. That makes these reports a useful read on the consumer and industrial segments, although the news itself is routine.
