Chili's Comparable Sales Rise 10%, Brinker Raises Fiscal 2027 Outlook

Brinker International reported first-quarter fiscal 2027 results on October 28, 2026, according to TradingView. Total revenues reached $1,475.6 million, up from $1,349.2 million a year earlier, and net income rose to $113.3 million from $99.5 million.

Diluted earnings per share were $2.64, or $2.77 excluding special items, compared with $2.17 and $1.93 a year ago. Comparable restaurant sales rose 9.1% across the company, with Chili's up 10.1% and Maggiano's down 3.4%. Chili's posted its 22nd straight quarter of comparable sales growth.

The company now expects fiscal 2027 total revenues of $6.23 billion to $6.33 billion and adjusted EPS of $13.30 to $13.90, above its previous ranges. Part of the increase comes from an extra operating week in the fourth quarter, which the company estimates adds about 2.0% to revenue and $0.70 to adjusted EPS.

Part of the guidance increase reflects the calendar, since the fourth quarter includes a 53rd week, rather than business growth alone. Even so, the traffic-led comparable sales gains at Chili's are the key signal for investors tracking demand in casual dining.
