Bombardier to invest $270M in US expansion as Trump softens tone

Montreal-based business-jet maker Bombardier plans to invest $270 million in expanding its American infrastructure and to hire 800 US workers, Dow Jones Newswires reports. The move follows days after President Trump, in an apparent reference to the company, said at a rally that he would help "a certain air company" sort out its issues after learning of its significant domestic operations.

The plan includes a major step-up in Texas, a new service center in Indiana, a learning hub in Kansas, and infrastructure projects in those states and in Connecticut. A roughly 64,500-square-foot service facility in Fort Wayne is set to open in November and can handle up to six business jets. Bombardier also said it spent $2.8 billion across its US supply chain in 2025.
