AQR and Equiniti disclose large stakes in easyJet and DCC under takeover rules

AQR Capital Management disclosed in a regulatory filing carried by Reuters an interest of 11,902,724 easyJet shares, or 1.57%, including cash-settled derivatives, along with 1,488,558 short positions (0.19%). The figures are as of 20 October 2026. Equiniti Share Plan Trustees, trustee of an easyJet employee share plan, holds 10,476,505 shares, or 1.38%.

A separate AQR filing published by DCC Energy PLC reports 1,205,303 DCC shares, or 1.41%, and 23,085 short positions (0.03%). The dealings in the filings were priced at roughly 6.81 to 6.83 pounds per easyJet share and about 64.4 pounds per DCC share.

why it matters

Filings of this kind are required from parties with stakes in companies subject to takeover rules set by the UK and Irish takeover panels. They show who holds meaningful positions but do not by themselves signal any deal or its terms. For markets this is mostly routine information, and it tends to move prices only when large or unexpected position changes appear.
